Which Mattress Should You Buy?
By comparison, Logan & Cove’s Frontier focuses more on coils than comfort, with a layer of micro coils sitting just below the mattress surface, and another layer of pocketed coils making up the base of the mattress.
So while both mattresses’ construction blends foam with coils, the Casper Atlas Hybrid impressed our sleep testers with it’s perfect mix of comfort and support, as well as motion transfer reduction.

Construction
Casper Atlas Hybrid
1. Cozy Knit Removable Cover
The cozy cover of Atlas Hybrid is extremely stretchy, elevating your comfort and providing a snug, cradling feel.
2. 1.5” Casper Signature Foam
The Atlas Hybrid features Casper’s signature foam that is built to give you a soothing feel through breathable foam while giving you that desirable bounce you seek from a high-quality mattress.
3. 1.5” High-Quality Transition Foam
This layer is designed for extra cushioning between the mattress’s top layer and flex coils to deliver plush comfort and smooth transitioning.
4. 6” Flex Coils with Casper Edge SupportThese individually pocketed coils deliver unparalleled support including your lumbar region and superior responsiveness for your body.
5. 1” ProSupport Foam
This foundational foam is behind the long-lasting support of the mattress and prevents sagging and too much sinking for a balanced feel with spinal alignment.
Logan & Cove Frontier
1. Quilted Cover
Plush top cover with a breathable hollow fibre fill contributing to a cool-to-touch top surface.
2. ecoLuxe Gel Foam Layer
The cooling gel layer provides cushioning for shoulders, hips, and knees.
3. Elastex Foam
This 1.5” foam piece brings a bunch of bounce while aiming to provide additional support and cushioning.
4. Wrapped Coils
9” coils across five zones, calibrated to support key areas of the body.
Both mattresses contain five layers but with different compositions. Starting from the top down, Casper’s thick, top layer of its renowned Casper Signature Foam gives the cushy, memory foam feeling it’s known for. Logan & Cove’s counterpart first layer is 0.5″ thinner.
For the second layer, Casper offers a layer of transition foam to relieve pressure points, which should lead to a more restful and deeper sleep. Combined with the Signature Foam, you’re getting 3” of cushioning, giving the mattress that comfortable foam feeling that differentiates it from an innerspring model. By contrast, the Logan & Cove has a layer of micro coils intended to conform to your body and add more airflow.
Underneath the Logan & Cove’s micro coils sits a couple more inches of foam that give some extra bounce, and then pocketed coils designed for zoned support. Meanwhile, the Casper’s base is made of 100% steel coils for enhanced firmness and bounce, as well as extra edge support. The edge support can be an important factor for those who need more stability when getting in and out of bed, or those who share their bed with a partner and want a more usable sleep surface around the perimeter. The bottom of the mattress contains an inch of dense foam to hold the whole mattress in shape.
Overall, our testers preferred the feeling of the Casper Atlas, citing an overall comfortable experience, with strong responsiveness and support throughout.
We have ranked Silk and Snow as medium-firm and were pleasantly surprised with how the mattress feels when you first lay on it. The Logan and Cove had a different sensation, with testers reporting a feeling of sinking into the plush top layer, with one tester commenting they could feel the coil layer underneath. Silk and Snow’s mattress has a true medium-firm feel, thanks to the additional layers and zoned lumbar support. Studies have shown that a truly medium-firm mattress improves sleep quality and reduces back pain. A soft mattress can cause spinal misalignment, and lead to back pain or postural issues over time.

Breathability
Another benefit of hybrid mattresses is that they’re generally more breathable than their all-foam counterparts, as the coils allow for more air to flow through the mattress. Here’s an important distinction between the two mattresses we’re reviewing: the Casper Atlas enhances the breathability already offered by its pocket coils by topping them with breathable foam, so the entirety of the mattress is designed to maximize airflow. Logan & Cove, on the other hand, took another approach with their Frontier mattress, opting for cooling features like cooling gel. The thing about cooling gel is that, while it may make for a nice cool-to-the-touch sensation initially, we typically see the cooling capabilities of cooling gel fade fairly quickly as the surface begins to absorb your body heat. For this reason, I typically recommend prioritizing breathability over cooling, and that’s why the Casper Atlas wins out here.
Conclusion

Casper Atlas Hybrid
- 10 year warranty and 100 night sleep trial
- A mattress with zoned support and cooling foam layers
- Impressive motion isolation and edge support
- High-quality foam and steel coils for a supportive and comfortable sleep

Logan and Cove Frontier
- A softer mattress that you sink into
- The feeling of an innerspring mattress
It’s not surprising that Casper has nailed the hybrid mattress model, as they’ve been in this game a long time, as one of the original mattress-in-a-box brands that now boasts more than 2,000,000 happy customers. They also offer a range of both hybrid and all-foam mattresses, all with Casper Signature Foam. (It’s worth noting that of their hybrid options, the Atlas has the most accessible price point, while still maintaining the same high-quality materials.) Logan & Cove only offers two mattresses, both hybrid options.
Casper has a faster shipping time, shipping within 1-4 business days compared to Logan & Cove’s 1-7 business days. You also have the option to test the mattress in-store across the country, whereas Logan & Cove is only available online.
Ultimately, we would recommend the Casper Atlas Hybrid Mattress over the Logan & Cove Frontier Hybrid Mattress because, for only slightly more investment, it better reflects the sleep needs hybrid mattress shoppers are looking to meet, with cozy comfort balanced by unparalleled support.
