Logan and Cove Mattress Review
Product Research: Our Process
Logan & Cove Choice: Luxurious or Too Soft?
Our Verdict
The Logan Cove Choice has similar issues to other hybrid mattress designs in its price range, with common customer complaints including that "sinking in" feel and a softer-than-advertised medium firm profile. I've also noticed that Logan and Cove does not allow you to filter or sort reviews — so be aware of the 5-star reviews you see online, as it's not a universal experience. The only real consolation is that this Cove choice mattress has a 365-night sleep trial. For the best value for money in a hybrid mattress that excels in performance, I prefer options such as the Silk & Snow Hybrid and Endy Hybrid. — both of which consistently outperformed Logan Cove in our testing.
If you're comparing the Cove choice to the Logan and Cove Frontier — the brand's more premium hybrid mattress — be aware that the Cove frontier mattress carries a higher price but faces many of the same structural limitations. This Cove mattress review focuses on the Choice model, but we reference the Logan Cove frontier where relevant for context.

Unboxing and First Impressions
The Logan Cove Choice Mattress arrived at my doorstep in a vacuum-compressed package, which was quite easy to manoeuvre. The Cove choice hybrid mattress took about 30–40 minutes to fully expand — however, the reinforced edges were unstable and wilted during the first night I slept on it, which was a poor first impression for a hybrid mattress claiming strong edge support.
In our Spring 2025 testing, we observed a mild smell from the new mattress that lasted 21 days. We did not measure VOC emissions from the mattress, so it is likely the Cove choice stopped off-gassing earlier — but if you are sensitive to smell, this is worth factoring into your decision. This new mattress off-gassing period is notably longer than what we observed for Canadian alternatives like the Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress and the Endy Hybrid Mattress.
Construction

The Logan Cove Choice Mattress is a medium firm hybrid mattress built with comfort layers of memory foam over a pocketed coils base. While the combination of gel foam and individually wrapped coils is promising in theory, the Logan Cove construction falls short in execution — particularly in pressure relief, cooling features, and motion isolation. Here’s a complete breakdown of what’s inside this Cove choice hybrid mattress:
1. 0.75″ Quilted Euro Top Cover (Top Cover / Quilted Cover)
The quilted euro top cover — also referred to as the top cover or quilted cover — is made with cooling features-infused nanofibers meant to stay cool to the touch and promote temperature regulation at the sleep surface. This breathable quilted top cover is the top layer of the Cove choice’s comfort layers system. The mattress cover is not machine washable, which is a practical limitation compared to the mattress cover designs on competing hybrid mattress options from Silk & Snow and Endy. While the top layer quilted cover looks luxurious, it does not deliver meaningful cooling features beyond initial surface feel.
2. 1″ ecoLuxe® Cooling Gel Foam (Comfort Layer / Gel Foam)
The gel foam comfort layer beneath the top cover is a cooling gel foam — a gel infused foam designed to wick away heat and moisture from the sleep surface. This cooling gel foam gel infused foam layer provides the cove choice’s primary active cooling features, though at just 1″ depth, it is insufficient to meaningfully address heat retention under sustained body heat. For hot sleepers, the thin gel foam comfort layer will disappoint — the Logan Cove reaches 24.8°C after 30 minutes of use, indicating significant heat retention despite the cooling gel foam presence.
3. 1″ Premium Elastex® Foam (Transition Layer / Comfort Layer)
The transition layer of memory foam beneath the cooling gel foam is supposed to provide a balanced feel of cushioning and bounce. In practice, this memory foam foam layer contributes to the enveloping, “stuck” sensation that is the most common complaint about the cove choice mattress — a characteristic of traditional memory foam comfort layers that lack sufficient rebound. Unlike the traditional memory foam in some competitors, the Elastex® foam layer does not respond quickly to shifts in body weight or sleeping position changes.
4. 9″ Pocketed Coils with Reinforced Edge Support (Support Layer / Zoned Support)
The pocketed coils support layer features individually wrapped coils designed to minimize motion transfer and provide zoned support across different sleeping position types. The reinforced edges are intended to improve edge support around the perimeter of the cove choice hybrid mattress. However, our testing found that the pocketed coils support layer did not deliver effective zoned support or meaningful motion isolation — and the reinforced edges failed to prevent significant edge support sinkage during testing. There are no micro coils in this construction — a feature found in more premium hybrid mattress options that enhances pressure relief and comfort layers responsiveness. The cove offers a support layer that is structurally adequate but underperforms for its price tier.
Comfort
While I liked the look of the quilted euro top cover on the Logan Cove Choice, it did not convey the “luxury” feel the brand promotes. In our Spring 2025 trials, several testers reported feeling the pocketed coils when lying down on the Cove choice mattress — an indication that the thin comfort layers above the support layer provide insufficient cushioning for most body weight profiles.
I personally did not experience shoulder pain or feel the coils directly, but I also did not feel significant pressure relief — and even as a side sleeper, the contouring of the comfort layers was excessive without delivering meaningful pressure buildup relief at the hips and shoulders. The Cove choice does not deliver the pressure relief that the Cove choice hybrid mattress marketing implies, and sleepers who hoped to feel well supported across all sleep styles will likely be disappointed.
Firmness
The Logan Cove Choice scores 6 out of 10 on our firmness scale — positioned as a medium firm hybrid mattress, but in practice, the mattress’s firmness skews noticeably softer than a true medium firm feel. From the quilted cover top layer to the bottom support layer and pocketed coils, I felt this Cove choice mattress does not maintain its claim of being a medium firm hybrid mattress.
The lack of firmness options is a significant structural weakness of the Logan Cove lineup — the choice mattress comes in only one firmness level, meaning stomach sleepers, heavier back sleepers, and anyone who typically needs more than medium firm support cannot find a suitable version within the Cove choice range. This is in stark contrast to the Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress and Endy Hybrid Mattress, both of which offer multiple firmness configurations. Even the Logan and Cove frontier — the brand’s premium Cove frontier hybrid mattress — does not resolve this limitation.
Motion Transfer
Hybrid mattress designs usually show more motion transfer than all-foam models — but many well-engineered hybrid mattress options have addressed this effectively. Unfortunately, the Logan Cove Choice is not one of them. Our Spring 2025 water test showed clear vibration in the vessel when the sleep tester got in and out of the Cove choice mattress, indicating the pocketed coils support layer and memory foam comfort layers are not effectively working together to contain motion transfer.
If you share a bed frame with a partner or pet, the motion isolation performance of the Logan Cove choice mattress will likely cause sleep disruptions. By comparison, the Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress delivers class-leading motion isolation through its 1,200 individually wrapped coils and dense gel infused foam comfort layers — a meaningful performance gap that the Cove choice cannot bridge. The Logan and Cove frontier offers some improvement in motion isolation over the Cove choice, but both trail the hybrid mattress competition from Canadian brands significantly.

Cooling
The Logan and Cove Choice has some cooling features in its comfort layers — the cooling gel foam gel infused foam top layer and nanofiber quilted cover are genuine attempts to address heat retention. However, after 30 minutes of lying on this Cove choice hybrid mattress, the sleep surface temperature rose to 24.8°C — indicating significant heat retention and an inability to sleep cool over time.
For hot sleepers, the Logan cove cooling features are simply not sufficient for a reliable sleep cool experience. We saw meaningfully better cooling features performance from the Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress and Endy Hybrid Mattress, both of which feature more effective cooling gel foam and gel infused foam comfort layers designed to manage heat retention over a full night. The cove frontier does incorporate additional cooling features over the cove choice, but at a substantially higher price. The Logan and cove frontier is worth comparing if cooling features are a priority, but even the Logan cove frontier trails Canadian alternatives on sustained temperature management.

Edge Support
The edge support of the Logan Cove Choice did not meet my expectations — despite the reinforced edges built into the pocketed coils support layer. When I sat on the perimeter of the Cove choice mattress, I sank approximately 5–6 inches, leaving very little stable support layer beneath me. This level of edge support sinkage is a recurring issue across the Logan Cove lineup and reflects the limitations of the thin comfort layers and insufficient reinforced edges in the Cove choice hybrid mattress design.
For sleepers who use the full width of their mattress — or who sit on the edge of their bed frame to get dressed or get out of bed — the weak edge support of the Logan Cove choice mattress progressively limits the usable sleep surface. The strong edge support that the brand implies through its “reinforced border” marketing is simply not reflected in real-world testing. The cove frontier does claim improved edge support over the Cove choice, but we would encourage independent testing before assuming this is a meaningful upgrade.

Sinkage and Responsiveness
A common customer complaint — and something I experienced firsthand while testing this Cove mattress — was deep sinkage. While lying on the Logan Cove choice mattress, I sank about 4–5 inches into the comfort layers. The sinkage, combined with a lack of bounce from the memory foam comfort layers, caused me to feel “stuck” and created real difficulty getting in and out of the bed frame.
This sinkage is compounded by the slow-recovery traditional memory foam foam layer, which does not rebound quickly when body weight shifts between sleeping position types. For previous mattress owners used to a more responsive hybrid mattress feel, the Logan Cove choice will feel particularly enveloping and unresponsive. Even lightweight sleepers who may not sink as deeply will notice the lack of bounce that is essential for smooth sleeping position transitions throughout the night.
How does it suit different sleeping positions?
Side Sleepers
Some side sleepers may find the Logan Cove choice mattress to be adequate — particularly lightweight sleepers who prefer a softer sleep surface. However, the pressure buildup concerns at the shoulders and hips, combined with deep sinkage in the comfort layers, mean that side sleepers of average or heavier body weight are unlikely to truly feel well supported. Those looking for different firmness options or a more responsive hybrid mattress should look to Silk & Snow or Endy’s hybrid mattress assortments — both of which offer medium firm and plush versions with superior pressure relief and sleep quality.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers should look for a hybrid mattress that supports their hips and shoulders with consistent zoned support and pressure relief. Our heavier back sleeping testers were notably less impressed with the Logan Cove choice mattress than lightweight back sleeping testers, suggesting the medium firm comfort layers lack the structural support layer depth needed for heavier body weight profiles. Shoulder pain and lower back pressure buildup are real risks for back sleepers of average or above-average weight on this Cove choice hybrid mattress.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers typically prefer firm mattress options that keep their midsection aligned and prevent hip sinkage — and the Logan Cove Choice does not deliver this. The medium firm positioning and soft comfort layers allow excessive sinkage for stomach sleepers, particularly those of average or heavier body weight. Casper Canada, Silk & Snow, and Endy all offer firm hybrid mattress options with genuine support layer depth for stomach sleepers seeking more support and reliable sleeping position alignment.
Combination Sleepers
For combination sleepers who toss and turn and shift sleeping position throughout the night, the Cove choice is a challenging option. The low bounce, deep sinkage, and poor motion isolation make smooth position transitions difficult — particularly for heavier body weight profiles. I’d suggest looking for a good mattress you can test in person, such as Casper or Silk & Snow, who have multiple retail partners across Canada, including Sleep Country locations.
Lightweight Sleepers
For lightweight sleepers, the Logan Cove Choice can be supportive enough for basic comfort across most sleep styles. The comfort layers provide adequate contouring for lighter body weight profiles, and the medium firm feel is less problematic when less downward pressure is applied to the Cove choice hybrid mattress sleep surface.
Heavy People
Heavier individuals will find the Logan Cove choice particularly unsatisfactory — deep sinkage, weak edge support, and limited zoned support combine to create a sleeping position experience that worsens with higher body weight. We recommend the Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress or the Endy Hybrid Mattress as superior medium firm hybrid mattress alternatives for heavier sleepers seeking genuine more support and durability.
Should You Buy the Logan & Cove Choice?

The Logan & Cove Choice Mattress claims to be luxurious, but other than the quilted euro top cover and plush quilted cover top layer, this Cove choice mattress does not compete with premium-priced hybrid mattress options. During our tests, the Logan Cove choice lacked meaningful cooling features, caused most sleepers to sink too deeply into the comfort layers, and delivered poor motion isolation — all critical failures for a medium firm hybrid mattress at this price.
For $999 CAD for a queen size mattress, there are many hybrid mattress options that offer incredible comfort, pressure relief, firmness options, cooling features, and durability. The Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress and Endy Hybrid Mattress are the great mattress alternatives I’d suggest — both are engineered to offer sleep quality that the Cove choice simply cannot match. These are the perfect mattress options for sleep styles ranging from back and side sleeping to combination sleeping.
The 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty are the Logan and cove standouts here, but a long sleep trial is only as valuable as the Cove choice hybrid mattress you’re testing. If you’ve been considering the Logan and Cove frontier or cove frontier mattress as a step-up option, be aware that many of the core sleep quality limitations of the Cove choice persist in the Logan Cove frontier range as well — and the price premium for the Cove frontier is difficult to justify when Canadian alternatives perform better at lower prices.
