Editor of Best Sleep Society
It is never too late to invest in a mattress that guarantees a better night’s sleep. Put your body on a mattress that actually works for you, and you’ll notice the difference from the very first night. Finding the best mattress Canada has to offer takes real legwork — so we did it for you, testing dozens of contenders to find the best mattress for every budget. In our ongoing search for the best Canadian mattresses, we test a staggering number of beds each year, revisiting our ratings to make sure our recommendations stay current. We evaluate every mattress on comfort, support, pressure relief, motion isolation, and cooling capabilities, and we consider how those qualities translate across a range of budgets, sleep styles, and body types.
Whether you sleep on your side, your back, your stomach, or you switch positions throughout the night, the right mattress makes all the difference. This guide will help you cut through the noise, understand what makes a great bed, and find the best mattress to rediscover your best sleep. Whichever best mattress you land on, the goal is the same: a bed that fits your body, your budget, and your best mattress shortlist without compromise — and that’s exactly what our roundup of the best mattresses in Canada aims to deliver.
Every recommendation in this guide to the best mattresses in Canada is grounded in hands-on mattress reviews rather than spec sheets alone. Our approach to testing mattresses relies on a panel made up of Canadian sleepers with different sleep styles — side sleepers, back sleepers, stomach sleepers, and combo sleepers who move between sleeping positions throughout the night — so that our mattress reviews reflect real-world comfort, not just marketing claims. Before you commit to a mattress purchase, we want you to know exactly how each bed performs on the things that actually matter: pressure relief, spinal alignment, motion transfer, edge support, and temperature regulation.

Types of Mattresses in Canada

Shopping for a mattress in Canada means choosing from several mattress constructions, and understanding the differences makes it much easier to match a bed to your sleep styles. Memory foam mattresses are known for their ability to contour to the body, providing pressure relief and support that many side sleepers and back sleepers appreciate. A true all foam mattress relies entirely on layers of foam — typically a contouring comfort layer over denser transition and support foam — rather than a coil support core.

A hybrid mattress, by contrast, combines a foam comfort layer with a coil system underneath, usually built from pocketed coils or individually wrapped coils arranged in a zoned coil system. This coil-based core adds bounce and airflow that an all foam mattress can’t fully replicate, while the foam layers on top still deliver the pressure relief side sleepers and back sleepers need. Many of today’s best mattresses in Canada use zoned coils that are firmer under the hips and softer at the shoulders, which helps keep the spine aligned across different sleeping positions. Top Canadian mattress brands offer high-quality foam and hybrid options with queen-sized prices typically ranging between $800 and $1,300 CAD.

An organic mattress typically swaps synthetic foams for natural latex and organic materials, such as GOTS certified organic cotton covers and GOLS-certified latex comfort layers. These builds tend to appeal to eco-conscious shoppers who also want strong edge support and reliable motion isolation. At the higher end of the market, a luxury mattress usually layers premium foams, natural fibers, and refined coil systems together for a softer mattress feel without compromising support — though a firmer mattress is also available across most product lines for back and stomach sleepers who prefer less sink. This is a great option for socially and environmentally conscious customers, but it’s not the only sustainable option. Keep in mind that most top Canadian brands now use CertiPUR-US certified foams, indicating low VOC emissions and high durability.

Completing Your Mattress Purchase: Bedding, Protectors, and Bed Frames

A great mattress is only part of the equation. Most of the picks above ship with a free bedding bundle, but it’s worth understanding what these accessories do and how to choose the right ones for your bed frame. Whether it’s called a free sleep bundle or a free bedding bundle, a quality mattress protector is the first line of defense against spills, allergens, and everyday wear, and pairing it with breathable pillow protectors keeps the rest of your sleep set fresh between washes. Many bundles also include a duvet cover and pillow shams, which let you refresh the look of your bedroom without buying an entirely new duvet cover each season.

If you tend to sleep hot, look for a mattress protector, pillow protectors, and duvet cover made from breathable materials like a silky bamboo cover or a soft cotton shell — both help pull heat away rather than trap it against a warm mattress. Side sleepers and back sleepers with sensitive pressure points may also want to pair their new mattress with adjustable memory foam pillows, since these let you fine-tune loft and firmness independently of the mattress below to further relieve pressure points at the neck and shoulders.

Compatibility with your existing furniture matters too. Every mattress featured in this guide works on platform beds, upholstered beds, and standard bed frames alike, so your mattress purchase upholstered beds owners are considering doesn’t require a furniture upgrade, and the same goes for a mattress purchase platform beds households already have in place — no mattress Canada shopper needs to buy new furniture first. A queen sized mattress remains the most popular choice among Canadian sleepers, offering enough surface area for two adults without dominating a standard bedroom. Whether you ultimately choose a firmer mattress or a softer mattress, matching your mattress features to your dominant sleeping positions — and to your partner’s, if you share a bed — is the single best way to avoid buyer’s remorse on a mattress purchase.

What We Look For

Our list covers only mattress in Canada options that are actually available to purchase — no grey-market imports, no products with unreliable shipping costs or sketchy warranties. We evaluate each mattress on five key pillars, and every one of our mattress reviews follows the same testing mattresses process so that scores stay comparable from one Canadian mattress to the next.

Comfort & Pressure Relief
How well does the mattress relieve pressure points across the shoulders, hips, and lower back? Strong pressure point relief is non-negotiable, especially for side sleepers and anyone dealing with joint pain. We cushion pressure points with a weighted test rig and compare the results across every foam mattress and hybrid mattress in our lineup.

Support & Spinal Alignment
Does the mattress keep your spine aligned throughout the night, and how well the mattress supports the lumbar region specifically? Proper spinal alignment prevents soreness and contributes to a genuinely pain free morning — as any sleep doctor would confirm. We assess zoned support structures, pocket coils, and foam layers to understand how well each bed keeps the body in a healthy, spine aligned position, without sacrificing support in the lumbar region.

Motion Isolation & Motion Transfer
If you share a bed, motion transfer matters. A mattress with strong motion isolation means your partner's movement won't disturb your sleep. We run dedicated motion transfer tests to measure this objectively, comparing individually wrapped coils and all-foam constructions side by side.

Edge Support
Weak edges can make a bed feel smaller than it is and cause the unsettling sensation of rolling off. Stronger edge support means better use of the full sleep surface and greater stability when sitting on the side of the bed. Amazing edge support also matters if you share a queen sized mattress and need every inch of usable surface.

Cooling & Breathability
Canadian winters are cold, but many people sleep hot year-round. We look at how well each mattress promotes airflow and limits heat retention, including the role of cooling gel foam, gel-infused layers, and breathable cover fabrics. Mattresses that manage heat retention well tend to score better with hot sleepers regardless of firmness.

Beyond performance — and beyond comparing mattress brands on price alone — we consider price, high quality materials, trial periods, and mattress warranty terms — because a great mattress should also be a great investment for any Canadian household planning a mattress purchase this year.

About The Endy Mattress
The Endy Mattress is our top pick for the best mattress in Canada for 2026, and it earns that title by delivering a consistently excellent experience across a wide range of sleep styles. As one of the most trusted Canadian mattresses on the market, Endy has built a reputation as a best canadian mattress brand, delivering quality foam mattresses that perform night after night. At its core, the Endy Mattress is a three-layer all foam mattress engineered to balance comfort and support. The top comfort layer is crafted from high density memory foam that contours to your body, offering a classic memory foam feel that hugs your pressure points without letting you sink too deep. This is backed by transition foam and a high density memory foam base that keeps the mattress stable, durable, and supportive over the long term. The result is excellent pressure relief — particularly appreciated by side sleepers, who tend to accumulate pressure around the shoulders and hips. The foam layers work together to distribute weight evenly, reducing pressure point buildup across the body without compromising support anywhere in the mattress construction. The Endy mattress is also known for its minimal sinkage and high levels of bounce, making it ideal for active couples. Motion isolation is another standout feature: the memory foam absorbs movement efficiently, keeping low motion transfer throughout the night — ideal if you share your bed with a restless partner. The Endy Mattress is available in firm, medium-firm, and plush firmnesses. Most sleepers will gravitate toward the medium firm feel, which hits a perfect balance between contouring comfort and sturdy support. Among medium firm mattresses in this price range, this is one of the most consistently well-reviewed options for back sleepers and combo sleepers who need consistent support regardless of their preferred sleep position. If you run warm, the breathable quilted cover helps limit heat retention and move body heat away from your sleep surface, so you're less likely to sleep hot even under a heavier duvet cover. The Endy Mattress comes with a 365 night trial — giving you over a year to decide if it's the right mattress for you — plus a 15-year warranty. The Endy mattress costs C$895 for a queen, providing good value for its performance. Few foam mattresses at this price point offer that kind of commitment, and the included mattress protector and pillow protectors make it easy to keep the whole set fresh from day one, and extra pillow protectors are easy to add later. The mattress ships compressed in a box and works equally well on platform beds, upholstered beds, and traditional bed frames, so your mattress purchase doesn't require buying new furniture to match.

About Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress
If you are looking for the best mattress that balances quality and affordability, the Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress is your answer. Among Canadian mattresses in the mid-range price tier, few can match what this snow hybrid delivers in terms of features, materials, and all-around performance. This hybrid mattress layers high density foam comfort layers over a coil-based core built from pocketed coils. The memory foam offers a contouring feel that excels at pressure relief — particularly around the hips and shoulders for side sleepers — while the pocketed coils add responsiveness and weight distribution that all foam mattress designs sometimes lack. The zoned support system means back sleepers and stomach sleepers both get targeted support right where they need it, keeping the spine aligned throughout the night across a variety of sleeping positions. Edge support is a genuine strength of this mattress: the foam-encased perimeter of the pocket coil unit gives the bed a sturdy, reliable edge that stands up to sitting and sleeping near the boundary of the mattress. This stronger edge support also makes getting in and out of bed easier — a small but meaningful quality-of-life improvement, and it means this queen sized mattress uses every inch of its sleep surface. Motion isolation on this snow hybrid is impressive for a coil-based mattress. This individually-wrapped coil design reduces motion transfer between sleep partners, so you are less likely to be disturbed by a restless bedmate. This makes the snow mattress an excellent choice for couples with different sleep styles. Silk & Snow offers the hybrid in firm, medium-firm, and plush options. The medium firm mattress option is our top recommendation for most sleepers, delivering a balanced feel between pressure-relieving foam and responsive spring support. The medium firm feel is especially versatile — it works well for back sleepers, side sleepers, and combo sleepers who shift between sleeping positions overnight. The Silk & Snow Hybrid mattress is priced under $1,000, making it an affordable option for many Canadian consumers. The free comfort sleep bundle included with purchase adds significant value: a fitted sheet and pillowcase set, duvet cover, pillow shams, and mattress protector. Few affordable mattress options throw in this level of bedding alongside purchase, and the bundle pairs neatly with the pillow protectors many shoppers already own. This mattress purchase also fits comfortably on platform beds and upholstered beds alike, with no special bed frames required.

About The Endy Hybrid Mattress
The Endy Hybrid Mattress takes everything that makes the original Endy a beloved memory foam mattress and elevates it with a pocket coil support system for a hybrid experience that sets a new standard for comfort. This is one of the best Canadian mattresses for sleepers who want the pressure-relieving softness of foam layers with the resilient, breathable support of coils beneath. The comfort layers on this hybrid mattress are made from high density memory foam that delivers deep, contouring pressure relief. Whether you are a side sleeper loading up pressure on your hip and shoulder, or a back sleeper needing lumbar cushioning, the memory foam comfort layers adapt to your body shape to relieve pressure points effectively across all common sleeping positions. The foam layers also do an excellent job of minimizing motion transfer, so even with pocketed coils underneath, this bed sleeps quietly when one partner moves. The zoned pocket coil system is a key differentiator, and these zoned coils are engineered to provide firmer support in the lumbar zone and softer give at the shoulders, keeping your spine aligned across different sleeping positions without compromising support at either end of the mattress. This makes the Endy Hybrid ideal for combo sleepers who shift between back, side, and stomach positions throughout the night. Edge support on the Endy Hybrid is notably strong — a full foam perimeter reinforces the coil unit, ensuring the edges of the mattress hold firm when you sit on them or sleep near the side of the bed. Better edge support also means you get more usable sleep surface from the same mattress size, which matters most on a queen sized mattress shared by two sleepers. Available in firm, medium-firm, and plush, the medium firm feel is our recommended starting point for most sleepers. Combined with the 365 night sleep trial, 15-year warranty, and the included mattress protector, this hybrid mattress represents outstanding value at its price point, and it sits comfortably on platform beds, upholstered beds, or standard bed frames.

Pros

  • Luxury knit cover
Cons
  • More expensive than other hybrid mattresses at this firmness level
About Casper Original Hybrid Mattress
When it comes to best mattress options at the premium end, the Casper Original Hybrid is in a class of its own. This hybrid mattress combines the responsive feel of pocketed coils with comfort layers of foam to deliver a sleep experience that is genuinely luxurious — and backed by smart ergonomic engineering. The standout feature is the three-zone ergonomic support system. The mattress uses targeted zones of pocket coils and poly foam to deliver firmer support under the hips and lumbar region while allowing softer contouring at the shoulders. This zoned support approach promotes proper spinal alignment for back sleepers and side sleepers alike, making it one of the best mattress options for anyone dealing with back discomfort or joint pain across a range of sleeping positions. The flex coils at the heart of this hybrid mattress adapt fluidly to your movements throughout the night, providing a balanced feel that cushions pressure points and supports simultaneously without compromising support at the edges. Motion isolation is strong for a coil-based mattress, making this a practical choice for couples. Edge support is also excellent — the reinforced perimeter means you can use the full surface of the bed without feeling like you're about to roll off, which is especially valuable on a queen sized mattress. The luxury knit cover adds a premium, breathable touch that helps promote airflow and keep body heat from accumulating, limiting heat retention even under a thick duvet cover. Combined with the responsive pocketed coils that allow air to circulate through the mattress core, this is a solid option for hot sleepers who still want the structure of a hybrid mattress. At a higher price point, the Casper Original Hybrid competes with the best mattress brands internationally — and holds its own. The medium firm feel suits most sleepers, and the construction means you're investing in high quality materials built to last. However, the brand also offers two other firmness options — plush and firm — so shoppers with different sleep styles can dial in their ideal feel.

  • Foam-encased pocket coils for sturdy support
  • Made in Canada
Cons
  • More firm feel compared to other hybrid mattresses in this tier
About Hush Graph-Iced Cooling Mattress
If you regularly overheat at night, a standard memory foam mattress — with its tendency to trap body heat — is not your friend. The Hush Graph-Iced Cooling Mattress was designed from the ground up to solve this problem. With six dedicated cooling features built into the construction, this hybrid mattress is the best mattress for anyone who needs to stay cool throughout the night, no matter their sleep styles. The signature innovation here is the use of cooling gel foam infused into multiple foam layers. Unlike standard foam, cooling gel foam actively draws heat away from your body, dissipating it through the mattress rather than letting it accumulate at your sleep surface. This, combined with layers that promote airflow through open-cell structures, means the Graph-Iced runs noticeably cooler and limits trapped heat better than most hybrid mattresses — or any all foam mattress — at a comparable price. The mattress uses foam-encased pocketed coils for its coil-based core, which enhances structural integrity while allowing air to circulate freely. This combination of cooling gel foam and an open coil system makes the Graph-Iced uniquely effective at temperature regulation compared to other foam mattresses in its price range, so you're far less likely to sleep hot. Pressure relief is solid across the medium-firm feel, and edge support is bolstered by the foam-encased coil perimeter. Motion isolation is also respectable — the foam layers absorb much of the movement that coils might otherwise transmit to your partner. The Hush Graph-Iced Cooling Mattress sits at a higher price point, but for a dedicated hot sleeper who has struggled with foam mattresses trapping body heat, the investment is worthwhile. The medium-firm feel suits back sleepers and stomach sleepers especially well, and the cooling technology benefits heavier sleepers who tend to generate more body heat and sleep hot most often.

About Silk & Snow Organic Mattress
For eco-conscious shoppers who want the best organic mattress without compromising on sustainability, the Silk & Snow Organic Mattress is the clear choice among Canadian mattresses. This hybrid mattress uses 100% organic materials across its comfort layers, making it one of the most responsibly constructed beds available in the country. The Silk & Snow Organic carries GOTS certified organic cotton (Global Organic Textile Standard), GOLS-certified latex (Global Organic Latex Standard), and eco-INSTITUT certifications — meaning every layer, from the soft cotton shell to the natural latex comfort layers, has been independently verified as free from harmful chemicals. For those with sensitivities to synthetic materials or chemical off-gassing, this snow mattress is a breath of fresh air. Natural latex layers are inherently pressure-relieving — they respond quickly to body weight and relieve pressure points effectively around the hips and shoulders, offering better pressure relief for side sleepers and back sleepers alike. Latex also has natural durability advantages over synthetic poly foam and standard memory foam, meaning the mattress maintains its comfort layer and support over a longer lifespan. Edge support is one of the Organic's strongest performance traits. The reinforced coil perimeter gives the mattress a sturdy, defined edge that holds up under daily use on platform beds, upholstered beds, and standard bed frames alike. Motion isolation is also above average for a hybrid mattress of this construction — the natural latex and individually wrapped coils work together to absorb and isolate movement, so restless sleeping positions don't disturb a partner. Available in firm, medium-firm, and plush, the medium firm feel is our go-to recommendation for most sleepers wanting both pressure relief and firm support from organic materials. Add the free Eco-Soy pillows, and this queen sized mattress becomes a complete, allergy-conscious upgrade for eco-minded shoppers.

7.94/10
Pros
  • 365-night trial for testing
  • Free bedding bundle included
  • Low price point
Cons
  • Low bounce in our bounce test
  • Unboxing smell that lingers
About Douglas Original Mattress
The Douglas Original Mattress, sometimes shortened to just the Douglas mattress by returning shoppers, is a fairly priced mattress in Canada, built from Canadian-made memory foam with a 365 night sleep trial and a free bedding bundle. The Douglas Original mattress is priced at C$799 for a queen, making it a budget-friendly option. However, in our Spring 2025 tests, the Douglas mattress scored low on bounce and several testers noted an unboxing smell that lingered longer than competing foam mattresses. The Douglas Original Mattress uses poly foam transition layers and high density memory foam, but the overall performance of this Douglas mattress fell short of our top picks. Compared with other memory foam mattresses in its price bracket, the Douglas mattress — a fairly straightforward foam mattress at heart — still offers reasonable pressure relief for side sleepers and back sleepers, and its medium-firm feel suits a range of sleeping positions, including back and stomach sleepers. The included mattress protector and free bedding bundle add some value to this Douglas mattress purchase, and it works fine on platform beds, upholstered beds, or a standard bed frame. That said, we would recommend The Endy Mattress over the Douglas Original Mattress for most sleepers, since the Douglas mattress still trails our top picks on bounce, given the stronger bounce and comfort layer performance among our best mattresses in Canada overall. If a lower price point matters more than bounce, the Douglas Original Mattress remains a reasonable fallback.

Puffy Cloud Mattress

7.57/10
Pros
  • Lifetime warranty
Cons
  • More expensive than other memory foams
  • Deep sinking and high motion transfer
  • Off-gassing lingers for a prolonged period
  • Softer feel may not suit all sleepers
About Puffy Cloud Mattress
The Puffy Cloud offers a lifetime warranty, which sounds appealing, but this memory foam mattress is more expensive than comparable foam mattresses in the Canadian market. Our testers described a deep sinking sensation, and the mattress scored poorly in our motion transfer test — high motion transfer is a real drawback for couples. The soft, plush feel may suit some sleepers, but it did not appeal to the majority of our testing panel, and its comfort layer struggled to relieve pressure points consistently. We'd recommend considering the Casper Original Hybrid instead.

Emma Original Mattress

Medium-Soft
7.79/10
Pros
  • 365-night trial to test
Cons
  • Lack of firmness
  • Extremely high motion transfer
  • Inconsistent edge and lumbar support
  • Deep sinking
About Emma Original Mattress
The Emma Original has a 365 night sleep trial, but it did not impress our testers. In Spring 2025 testing, it ranked at the bottom of our pool for motion transfer, with extremely high motion transfer observed across all test scenarios. Edge support was inconsistent — one tester actually slipped off the mattress during our edge tests, and the mattress construction seemed to be compromising support at the perimeter to keep costs down. The deep sinking and lack of firmness also concerned our sleep experts. We'd recommend the Silk & Snow Hybrid over the Emma Original.

Logan & Cove Choice

7.92/10
Pros
  • 365-night trial period to test
  • Free bedding bundle
Cons
  • High motion transfer
  • Low bounce
About Logan & Cove Choice
The Logan & Cove Choice Mattress comes with a 365 night sleep trial and a free bedding bundle — attractive incentives. The Logan & Cove Choice mattress is priced at C$999 for a queen, which is notably less expensive than the average Canadian mattress. Unfortunately, our Spring 2025 tests revealed high motion transfer and low bounce, and one tester reported feeling individual pocketed coils while lying on the mattress, suggesting the comfort layers may be too thin. While the Logan & Cove Choice Mattress is worth considering if budget is a hard constraint, we'd recommend the Silk & Snow Hybrid for comparable pricing with significantly better performance.

Juno Mattress

Memory Foam
Firmness
Medium
4.89/10
Pros
  • budget-friendly
Cons
  • Thinner mattress (8")
  • Low edge support
  • Not suitable for sleepers over 250lbs
About Juno Mattress
The Juno Mattress is one of the most affordable mattress options in the Canadian market. At 8 inches, it has a thinner profile than most of the foam mattresses we tested, and our Spring 2025 tests found that heavier sleepers sank deeper into the mattress than any other bed we evaluated. Low edge support was also noted across our testing panel, and the thin comfort layer left little room for cushioning pressure points. That said, the Juno is a solid option for growing children's rooms, guest beds, or vacation homes where budget is the primary driver in a mattress purchase.
