DreamCloud Mattress Review
Product Research: Our Process
The DreamCloud Mattress: An American-Made Budget Hybrid
Our Verdict
The DreamCloud mattress can be supportive enough for light to medium-weight sleepers and side sleepers, back sleepers, and combination sleeping positions. However, as it sinks and contours more than an average medium firm hybrid mattress, I wouldn't recommend it to stomach sleepers or bigger-bodied body types. For hot sleepers who need genuine temperature management, the DreamCloud classic hybrid also falls short. The Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress is worth paying a little more to get better edge support, motion isolation, and pressure relief across all body types and sleeping positions.
The DreamCloud brand also offers a step-up model — the DreamCloud Premier — which adds more memory foam layers and improved cooling fibers at a higher price. The DreamCloud premier and its DreamCloud premier memory foam variant are worth considering if you find the DreamCloud classic hybrid too basic, though Canadian alternatives still outperform both in our performance tests.

Purchasing and Returns
The forever warranty and 365-night trial period are the strongest features of the DreamCloud mattress. However, as with the nectar mattress (another Resident Home product), these generous terms come with conditions. I recommend checking the DreamCloud website for full mattress warranty and trial period details before replacing your old mattress with this new mattress.
Unboxing and First Impressions
The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid arrives at your doorstep in a vacuum-compressed box — but compared to other bed-in-a-box hybrid mattresses, this box was not the easiest to manoeuvre. Once the plastic was cut open, the DreamCloud classic hybrid mattress took about 2–3 hours to expand to its full 14″ structure — longer than most competing hybrid mattresses. I always recommend giving a new mattress the full 72 hours before your first night’s sleep.
My first impression of this DreamCloud hybrid was that the edge support was immediately disappointing — the curvy border design was visibly soft from unboxing. The DreamCloud classic hybrid sinks deeper than other hybrid mattresses I’ve tested, yet it does give a decent bounce that might appeal to certain body types and sleeping positions. When upgrading from an old mattress, sleepers accustomed to firmer hybrid mattresses will notice the sinkage immediately.
Construction

The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid Mattress is a 6-layer hybrid bed combining memory foam foam comfort layers and pocketed coils — a construction that the brand positions as a luxury bed experience at a budget price. The DreamCloud mattress features are as follows:
1. Breathable Cashmere-Blend Cover (Quilted Cover)
The cashmere blend cover — also referred to as the quilted cover — is a soft, tight cover that carries a cloud pattern. This quilted cover is aesthetically appealing, but it does not incorporate meaningful cooling fibers or gel infused memory foam technology at the surface level. The quilted cover contributes to the initial plush feel of the DreamCloud classic hybrid without delivering the sustained cooling fibers performance that hot sleepers need.
2. 5″ Supportive Soft Foam (Comfort Layer / Memory Foam Comfort Layer)
This memory foam comfort layer is stitched into the quilted cover for plushness and contouring — providing the DreamCloud classic hybrid’s primary body-conforming foam comfort layers experience. This memory foam comfort layer is what gives the DreamCloud hybrid its deeper-than-average sinkage, and it is the primary reason the DreamCloud mattress contours more than a typical medium firm hybrid mattress. For side sleepers and lightweight sleeper profiles, this memory foam comfort layer can relieve pressure at the shoulders and hips.
3. 1″ Pressure Relieving Foam (Comfort Layer)
This second comfort layer offers additional pressure relief and contouring responsiveness for the body. It functions as a transitional foam layer between the soft memory foam above and the firmer foam layer below — helping to relieve pressure at key contact points for different body types and sleeping positions. The DreamCloud premier memory foam version incorporates gel infused memory foam at this level for improved hot sleepers performance, though the standard DreamCloud classic hybrid mattress does not.
4. 2″ Standard Foam (Foam Layer)
This foam layer prevents sleepers from feeling the innerspring coils under this layer while maintaining a neutral spine. At 2″ depth, this is a basic poly foam foam layer that provides a buffer between the memory foam foam comfort layers above and the pocketed coils below. The DreamCloud classic hybrid relies on this foam layer for proper spinal alignment continuity — a limitation compared to the zoned support layer systems in premium hybrid mattresses from Silk & Snow and Endy.
5. 8.5″ Individually-Wrapped Coils (Pocketed Coils / Innerspring Coils)
The pocketed coils — individually wrapped coils steel innerspring coils — are designed for motion isolation and airflow. This pocketed coils system is the DreamCloud classic hybrid’s primary structural advantage over all foam mattress designs, providing bounce, airflow, and basic motion isolation. However, the innerspring coils in the DreamCloud hybrid are not zoned — meaning all body types and sleeping positions receive uniform coil resistance rather than targeted support layer adjustment. This is a meaningful limitation compared to zoned pocketed coils systems in better-performing hybrid mattresses.
6. 1″ Stability Base Layer (Support Layer)
The support layer base provides structure to the DreamCloud classic hybrid mattress and supports the innerspring coils above. The support foam — the only instance in the entire DreamCloud classic hybrid construction — is a minimal 1″ base that contributes to the overall 14″ height without adding meaningful pressure relief or proper spinal alignment reinforcement. The light green foam base layer is visible when the DreamCloud mattress is unboxed.
Comfort
The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid provides adequate comfort if you’re a light to medium-weight person, or if you don’t require extra support from your hybrid mattress. The foam comfort layers and pocketed coils do relieve pressure for lighter body types and sleeping positions, making it a tolerable option for short-term use. However, I did find it sometimes difficult getting in and out of a hybrid bed, which may compromise some sleepers’ overall comfort and good night’s sleep consistency on this DreamCloud mattress.
The DreamCloud classic hybrid mattress does provide some exceptional pressure relief for side sleepers and lightweight sleeper profiles specifically — but for back and stomach sleepers, hot sleepers, or sleepers with higher body types weight profiles, the DreamCloud hybrid comfort system falls meaningfully short of what Canadian-made hybrid mattresses deliver. The DreamCloud mattress features sound appealing on paper, but performance tests reveal consistent gaps.
Firmness
The DreamCloud claims to be a true medium firm, scoring 6.5 out of 10 on our mattress firmness scale. When I conducted the firmness scale test across multiple areas of the DreamCloud classic hybrid mattress surface, I found the perimeter to be noticeably softer than the centre — an inconsistency that affects both edge support and sleeping position comfort near the edges of the mattress.
The medium firm feel of the DreamCloud classic hybrid skews softer than advertised for most body types — a pattern consistent across this mattress review and customer feedback we observed. The DreamCloud premier and DreamCloud premier hybrid offer slightly firmer profiles, though neither meaningfully addresses the core edge support and motion isolation limitations of the standard DreamCloud classic hybrid mattress. For back and stomach sleepers needing a genuinely firm mattress, the DreamCloud lineup is not the answer.
Motion Transfer
The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid creates some level of motion transfer when getting in and out of bed. Unless you or your partner is a light sleeper, this motion transfer should not affect most couples substantially. The individually wrapped coils do provide a basic level of motion isolation — a structural advantage over all foam mattress designs — but the DreamCloud hybrid does not engineer its pocketed coils for minimized motion transfer the way premium hybrid mattresses from Silk & Snow do.
For light sleeper profiles sharing a bed, the DreamCloud classic hybrid’s motion isolation score of 6/10 may still cause occasional sleep disturbances — particularly during the deeper sinkage recovery period after movement.

Cooling
The DreamCloud cooling capabilities were underwhelming in our performance tests — not surprising, as there is no dedicated cooling fibers layer or gel infused memory foam in the standard DreamCloud classic hybrid mattress construction. The cashmere blend cover provides surface breathability, but without cooling fibers or active gel infused memory foam technology in the foam comfort layers, the DreamCloud hybrid cannot deliver sustained temperature regulation for hot sleepers.
For hot sleepers and those who sleep hot at night, the DreamCloud mattress is a poor match — and alternatives such as the Silk & Snow Hybrid or Casper Original Hybrid, both of which incorporate active cooling fibres and gel infused memory foam memory foam comfort layer systems, are far more appropriate choices. The DreamCloud premier memory foam version adds some additional cooling considerations, but the core DreamCloud hybrid construction still lacks the dedicated cooling fibres infrastructure that hot sleepers need.

Edge Support
The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid Mattress has curvy borders that contributed significantly to its underperformance in the edge support test and weighted edge support test. The soft perimeter of the DreamCloud mattress created a notable lack of stability when sitting or lying near the edge — a recurring concern in our performance tests and in customer reviews we analyzed for this DreamCloud mattress review.
The DreamCloud classic hybrid mattress does not offer better edge support than comparable hybrid mattresses at this price point — in fact, it performs below average for hybrid mattresses in the edge support test category. The curvy border design actively undermines perimeter stability, and the weighted edge support test confirmed consistent sinkage near the edges across all body types tested. For sleeping position types that use the full width of the mattress — particularly couples and heavier back sleepers — this edge support weakness is a meaningful long-term limitation.

Sinkage and Responsiveness
I experienced noticeable sinking on this DreamCloud classic hybrid — more than I expected for a medium firm hybrid mattress — and had some difficulty getting out of the hybrid bed. The DreamCloud mattress takes longer than other hybrid mattresses to recover from movements, a limitation of the deep memory foam foam comfort layers and the pocketed coils system’s uniform resistance.
For combination sleepers who shift sleeping positions frequently, this slow recovery can make the DreamCloud hybrid frustrating to navigate during the night. The DreamCloud classic hybrid mattress does offer decent bounce from its innerspring coils — better than most memory foam mattresses at this price — but the memory foam comfort layers above the pocketed coils dampen much of that responsiveness before it reaches the sleeping position surface.
How does it suit different sleeping positions?
Side Sleepers
The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid should be satisfactory for side sleepers of light to medium weight. The memory foam comfort layer and foam comfort layers do relieve pressure at the shoulders and hips — the primary pressure relief zones for side sleepers — and the deeper contouring can benefit side sleepers who prefer a softer sleeping position surface. However, side sleepers who share a hybrid bed with a partner should be aware of the motion transfer limitations.
Back Sleepers
Heavier back sleepers may want to consider alternatives such as the Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress, which provides more reliable proper spinal alignment and edge support for higher body types weight profiles. The DreamCloud classic hybrid mattress does provide basic pressure relief for back sleepers of lighter weight, though the soft perimeter limits the usable sleeping position surface for back sleepers who sleep near the edges.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers would benefit from a firm mattress with stronger hip and midsection support than the DreamCloud hybrid provides. The DreamCloud classic hybrid’s softer-than-advertised medium firm feel and deeper-than-average sinkage make it a poor choice for back and stomach sleepers who need consistent proper spinal alignment throughout the night. The Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress in medium firm or firm configuration is the recommended alternative for stomach sleepers.
Combination Sleepers
If sinkage and motion transfer are sleeping position concerns, the DreamCloud mattress may not be your perfect mattress. Combination sleepers will find the slow recovery of the memory foam foam comfort layers and the limited motion isolation of the pocketed coils system frustrating when transitioning sleeping positions throughout the night. Alternatives like the Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress or Casper Original Hybrid Mattress offer meaningfully better motion isolation and responsiveness for combination sleepers of all body types.
Lightweight Sleepers
Lightweight sleeper profiles should find the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid satisfactory for basic comfort across most sleeping positions. The foam comfort layers contour well at lighter body types weights, and the DreamCloud hybrid provides adequate pressure relief and motion isolation for short-term or secondary use. However, even lightweight sleeper profiles seeking a best mattress for nightly use will find better long-term proper spinal alignment and motion isolation performance from Canadian-made hybrid mattresses.
Heavy People
Heavier body types individuals would benefit from a firm mattress with more dedicated support layer depth and edge support reinforcement. The DreamCloud classic hybrid mattress is not designed for the sustained structural demands of heavier sleeping positions profiles, and the soft perimeter makes edge support particularly unreliable for heavier individuals. We recommend Made in Canada options like the Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress for heavier body types seeking better edge support and long-term performance.
Should You Buy The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress?

The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid is a budget hybrid mattress offering adequate comfort for light to medium-weight sleepers who don’t mind purchasing from an American brand. The 12″ height of the DreamCloud classic hybrid mattress does appear luxurious for its DreamCloud mattress cost, and the forever warranty lifetime warranty is a genuine long-term commitment. However, for a perfect mattress that truly delivers across edge support, motion isolation, cooling, and proper spinal alignment for all body types and sleeping positions, the DreamCloud hybrid falls meaningfully short.
The DreamCloud premier and DreamCloud premier hybrid models offer incremental improvements — including more memory foam foam comfort layers and some cooling fibres additions in the DreamCloud premier memory foam variant — but neither is competitive with Canadian-made hybrid mattresses on overall value and performance. The mattress industry in Canada has no shortage of better options at comparable price points.
If you want a best mattress that offers better bang for your buck, I recommend the Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress or Casper Original Hybrid Mattress. Both will leave you feeling confident about edge support, motion isolation, cooling, and sleeping position support — and both include a free bedding bundle and a 365-night trial period with no limitations. These are the perfect mattress options for most sleepers of all body types.
