The Endy Mattress
Construction
1. Micro Quilted Cover
The soft and stretchy micro-quilted cover on the Endy Mattress is machine washable—a big win for anyone living with kids or pets!
2. Comfort Foam Layer
As the name suggests, this layer is all about comfort. It cradles your body gently to relieve pressure points without sacrificing support. In addition, open-cell technology provides airflow allowing body heat to dissipate easily, rather than linger, while you’re trying to doze off. Lastly, it’s infused with cooling gel for a comfortable feel.
3. Transition Layer
This layer of responsive polyfoam is what holds you up and supports your back, so when you lie down on the mattress, you’re not sinking into it too much. It’s also responsible for eliminating motion transfer, so you shouldn’t feel your partner’s movements throughout the night
4. Support Layer
The bottom layer is made of high-density support foam that provides a stable base for the mattress.
Comfort & Performance
Let me take you through the features of the Endy Mattress, while providing my own experience sleeping on this bed.
Comfort is a priority in any mattress, and I found Endy definitely delivers on this. Its top layer of Comfort Foam says it all – it makes for a cozy sleep surface that hugs your body just right. I’ve also been impressed by this mattress’s ability to evenly distribute body weight to relieve pressure points. Without this feature, this can result in trying to find a comfortable position throughout the night and impact your quality of sleep. This element has made both falling asleep and staying asleep much easier for me.
Support is equally important, and absolutely something I prioritize as a chiropractor. Again I found that the Endy easily meets this criteria. It has a 6.5/10 firmness rating, putting it in the “medium-firm” category. In my practice, I will educate my patients on how to attain a neutral spine throughout their day and also while they sleep. Trying to maintain this positioning is a factor in preventing back pain and stiffness. This mattress holds the spine in a neutral position throughout the night which is ideal and is one of the reasons I recommend it. I can personally say that I do not wake up with any aches or pain ever since I switched to sleeping on my Endy Mattress in 2020!
Bounce
Endy’s foam is highly responsive, quickly rebounding where pressure is applied to it. I find this translates to a great level of “bounce,” providing that delightful springy feeling you’re looking for in a mattress.
Motion Transfer
Motion transfer refers to the movement felt on one part of the mattress due to motion on another area. This can be caused by a partner rolling over, shifting position, or getting in and out of bed. It’s something patients at my chiropractic office often complain about (and personally, a problem I had to deal with before switching to Endy!). A mattress with low motion transfer minimizes these disturbances, ensuring uninterrupted sleep for couples or anyone sharing a bed.
I find the Endy Mattress to have a strong degree of motion isolation. When there’s movement on one side of the mattress, it will barely be felt on the other. All-foam mattresses tend to eliminate motion transfer better than mattresses with springs, and Endy certainly proves this to be true. It’s a great option for those concerned about their partner’s movements waking them up in the night.
Breathability
Foam mattresses typically require a different approach to breathability compared to spring or hybrid mattresses, as they don’t have innersprings to encourage airflow. Endy has effectively combatted this with its Comfort Foam, which uses open-cell technology to allow air to move through the mattress, dispersing body heat. The foam also contains a cooling gel that provides a cool feel on the mattress’s surface. These particular features yield a much stronger performance during the breathability test, compared to traditional memory foam mattresses.
Additionally, the micro-quilted cover promotes airflow on the surface of the bed. Like the Comfort Foam, this cover is infused with a cooling gel that draws heat away and feels cool to the touch. Also, the cover is machine washable!
In my opinion, the Endy Mattress delivers exceptional performance for an all-foam mattress.
