Unboxing & First Impressions
The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow arrives vacuum-compressed and plastic-wrapped, packed into a compact box similar to other bed-in-a-box models. You may require an extra pair of hands, as this Casper Wave Hybrid mattress is heavy — a direct reflection of its premium comfort layers, latex components, and gel pods. We recommend a spacious area for your mattress setup; the hybrid snow mattress needs only a few minutes to expand to its full 14″ form.
Our first impression? A cozy, luxurious mattress that looks like love at first snooze. The breathable mattress cover is immediately cool to the touch, and the 14″ profile is noticeably more substantial than the average mattress — a visible indicator of the quality materials inside.
Construction
The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow Mattress features eight layers of premium foam, latex, and gel pods over a coil layer, making it the most advanced cooling hybrid in the Casper lineup. Here is a full breakdown of each layer:
1. QuickCool™ Cooling Mattress Cover (Top Layer)
The top layer is the QuickCool™ Cooling Mattress Cover — a breathable fabric made with cool-to-the-touch fibres that provide the first stage of the Wave Hybrid Snow's multi-layer cooling system. This mattress cover immediately draws body heat away from the skin on contact, giving the snow mattress its signature cool-first feel, and it's one of the most immediately noticeable mattress features of the Casper Wave Hybrid.
2. AirScape® Cooling Foam with Phase Change Material (Top Layer / Comfort Layer)
The second layer is AirScape® Cooling Foam combined with phase change material — one of the Casper Wave's most innovative cooling features. The phase change material in this memory foam comfort layer absorbs excess heat and releases it when temperatures drop, keeping the mattress cool and comfortable throughout the night. A cooling gel foam infusion adds surface cooling, part of Casper Snow Technology™, and Casper signature foam is used throughout this layer for pressure relief and breathability.
3. HeatDelete® Bands (Cooling Layer)
The HeatDelete® Bands are engineered into the Wave Hybrid Snow mattress to continuously pull excess heat away from your body for 12+ hours. This component is unique to the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow and forms the core of its Snow Technology™ system, working alongside the phase change material above to prevent heat retention through even the hottest nights.
4. Motion-Isolating Foam with Cooling AirScape® Technology (Comfort Layer)
This transition foam layer of align foam provides support, motion isolation, and a boost of comfort, while AirScape® Technology allows warm air to move through the comfort layers. This keeps cooling going at the mid-stack level.
5. Zoned Support™ Ergonomic Foam with Gel Support Pods (Memory Foam Layer / Latex Foam Layer)
This is the most technically sophisticated layer in the Wave Hybrid Snow mattress. The Zoned Support™ Ergonomic Foam includes up to 82 gel support pods placed strategically under the waist and lower back to promote spinal alignment and deliver ample pressure relief. The gel pods provide targeted lumbar support that adapts to different sleeping positions without compromising overall firmness, and this zoned memory foam delivers zone-specific support for both the shoulders and the lumbar area. The layer also incorporates natural latex foam that adds responsive rebound to the Casper Wave Hybrid's overall feel.
6. Motion-Isolating Foam with Ergonomic Zoned Support™ and Cooling AirScape® Technology (Comfort Layer)
A second zoned transition foam layer of align foam helps align the spine and improves motion isolation while AirScape® Technology continues to move heat away. This redundant zoned support is what gives the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow its best-in-class spinal alignment across all sleeping positions — a feature found in very few hybrid mattresses.
7. Flex Coil Supportive Pocketed Springs (Support Layer)
The support layer is made up of individually wrapped coils — Casper's proprietary Flex Coil system. These pocketed springs respond independently to body weight, providing more support and better motion isolation at the structural level. The coil layer also enhances airflow through the lower foam layers, contributing to the Wave Hybrid Snow's 10/10 cooling score.
8. ProSupport Foam with Casper Edge Support (Base / Edge Support Layer)
The base layer is ProSupport memory foam — a high-density foundation that prevents sinking and sagging across the entire mattress. The firmer border built into this layer is Casper's dedicated reinforced edge support system, providing strong support around the full perimeter of the Wave Hybrid Snow mattress and a stable sleeping surface right to the mattress edge. It's also compatible with an adjustable base.
Firmness
The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow Mattress comes in three firmness levels: Plush, Medium, and Firm. This review evaluates the Medium. The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow Medium scores 6.5 out of 10 on our firmness scale — a true medium firm mattress that suits a wide range of sleepers, with the right amount of sinking and bounce.
For those who prefer a softer mattress with a cloud-like feel, the Plush version features softer foam layers designed to relieve pressure points for side sleepers and lightweight side sleepers. The Firm version features firmer foam layers ideal for stomach sleepers and back sleepers who need firmer support and maximum spinal alignment. All three versions share the same Snow Technology™, gel support pods, and multi-layer cooling architecture — the only difference is foam density.
10Cooling
The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow is the ultimate cooling mattress, engineered to keep hot sleepers cool all night through multiple cooling systems working in concert. The Casper Wave features Snow Technology™, AirScape® Technology, phase change material, and HeatDelete® Bands — a combination of cooling features found in no other hybrid mattress in Canada.
Casper Snow Technology™ helps you sleep a few degrees cooler even at peak temperatures. The phase change material addresses heat retention at the foam level, while the HeatDelete® Bands pull heat down and out of the mattress for 12+ hours. The cooling gel foam in the upper comfort layers provides an additional layer of surface cooling. Together, these systems make this cooling hybrid the definitive choice for Canadians who sleep hot or struggle with night sweats.
If the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow is outside your budget, the Casper Original Hybrid offers some of the same AirScape® Technology cooling at a lower price point. Casper Canada also offers an entire range of cooling sleep accessories for hot sleepers, including the QuickCool™ Mattress Protector, Foam Pillow with Snow Technology™, Humidity-Fighting Duvet, QuickCool™ Pillow Protectors, SuperSoft TENCEL™ Sheets, and Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology™.
10Pressure Relief
The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow is extremely comfortable. From the moment you lie down on this Casper Wave Hybrid, you will feel its robust pressure relief and zoned support. The body contouring of the comfort layers is exceptional for a hybrid mattress, relieving pressure points while keeping your spine aligned. The cool surface of the QuickCool™ cover immediately starts soothing your body, while the gel pods reinforce targeted comfort for key areas.
The gel support pods placed under the waist and lower back are particularly impactful, delivering targeted pressure relief that most medium firm mattresses and even other premium hybrid mattresses simply don't provide. The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow is the rare mattress that feels genuinely different from the first night — and continues to deliver as a new mattress investment well into its 10-15 year lifespan.
8.5Motion Transfer
The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow has outstanding motion isolation, making it one of the best Casper mattresses for couples. Our Casper reviews always test motion isolation, and the hybrid snow mattress performed above expectations in every test. The pocketed springs work independently at the support layer to contain movement, while the zoned memory foam and align foam layers above absorb surface motion before it can travel across the bed.
If you share your bed with a partner, pet, or child, strong motion isolation means meaningfully fewer sleep disturbances — a critical advantage for light sleepers and combination sleepers who share a bed.
10Response
Unlike other mattresses that may become too soft or allow excessive sinkage, the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow offers a perfectly balanced feel. There is slight sinkage that feels appropriate for a 14″ hybrid mattress, but the fast response time from the coil layer minimizes its effect. The bounce is spot-on for ease of movement and getting in and out of bed.
The zoned foam layers and gel support pods work together so the mattress responds precisely to body weight shifts, delivering pressure relief exactly where it's needed without over-contouring and preventing sinkage over time.
8.8Edge Support
The Casper Wave Hybrid features a firm border that delivers good edge support around the full perimeter, so you can sit or lie close to the mattress edge with no slipping or rolling off. The ProSupport base creates strong support at the perimeter, while the coil support layer extends structural stability right to the edge.
The Casper Wave's edge support does not diminish over time — the high-density ProSupport base resists perimeter compression even after years of regular use, a meaningful longevity advantage over competing hybrid mattresses in this price range. For sleepers who use a Repose Wooden Bed Frame or slatted foundation, edge support performance is further enhanced by the even base support.
7.5Off-Gassing
Off-gassing refers to the temporary chemical smell that comes with unboxing a new mattress, and the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow scores a 7.5 out of 10 here — a reasonable result, but one worth setting expectations around. Its several layers of memory foam, phase-change cooling materials, and coil core mean it's somewhat more likely than simpler hybrid mattresses to carry a noticeable smell out of the box. This is a normal, temporary part of setup, and the odour typically fades within a day or two in a well-ventilated room. Sensitive sleepers may want to unbox it a few days before their first night.
9.8Bounce
Bounce comes easily to the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow, which earns a 9.8 out of 10 thanks to its hybrid construction. Beneath the zoned memory foam and cooling layers sits a full core of pocketed coils, and that coil base does the heavy lifting for responsiveness. The bounce makes it easy to move and get in and out of bed, and the fast response time minimizes any effect from slight sinkage. That quick recovery makes shifting positions effortless, whether you're a combination sleeper who moves through the night or a couple who wants to avoid feeling "stuck," and the airflow between springs supports its cooling features. For sleepers who want a lively, responsive mattress without sacrificing the plush comfort of Casper's signature foam, the Wave Hybrid Snow delivers close to top marks.
Sleep Positions
Side Sleepers
The Wave Hybrid Snow mattress is exceptionally friendly to side sleepers, providing ample cushioning and bounce while relieving pressure points at the neck, shoulders, and hips. The zoned memory foam and gel support pods deliver targeted pressure relief for side sleepers, with softer foam under the shoulders for average weight and lightweight side sleepers alike, and the zoned support keeps the spine aligned throughout the night. Those who prefer a more plush feel can opt for the Wave Hybrid Snow Plush; those who prefer a firmer base can opt for the Wave Hybrid Snow Firm.
Back Sleepers
The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow's medium firm feel is exactly what a back sleeper needs, keeping the spine neutral while cushioning the lower back at the gel support pods zone. Its exceptional pressure relief provides restorative sleep for back sleepers night after night. The Firm version was also designed specifically with back sleepers in mind, with firmer foam layers and enhanced spinal alignment.
Stomach Sleepers
The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow does an excellent job catering to stomach sleepers through its latex layer and gel support pods, which keep the hips elevated and the spine neutral. Most stomach sleepers of average weight will find the Medium provides the right balance of support and pressure relief for the hips and torso. Lighter stomach sleepers will find the Plush version appealing, while heavyweight stomach sleepers should opt for the Firm version for maximum hip and midsection support, since strict stomach sleepers often need a firmer mattress for proper spinal alignment.
Combination Sleepers
Combination sleepers of average weight benefit enormously from the Casper Wave Hybrid's medium firm profile. The responsiveness of the coil layer ensures smooth transitions between sleeping positions, while zoned support, pressure relief, and motion isolation all contribute to restful sleep with no disturbances. The gel pods adapt seamlessly whether the sleeper is on their back, side, or stomach.
Lightweight Sleepers
Lightweight sleepers will love the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow's plush comfort and medium firmness, which keeps the spine aligned throughout the night. The Plush version is particularly well suited to lightweight side sleepers who want deeper pressure relief at the shoulders and hips.
Heavy People
The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow provides ample pressure relief and support for heavier individuals through its coil support layer and high-density ProSupport memory foam base. Those seeking a firmer feel should opt for the Wave Hybrid Snow Firm for maximum lumbar support and spinal alignment.
9The Company
40% Shipping, Returns, Options & Perks · 30% Trial · 30% Warranty
Casper is a well-established sleep company that got its start in the United States in 2014, where it pioneered the original bed-in-a-box model — replacing the traditional showroom with online ordering shipped to your door. That innovation helped kick off a wave of direct-to-consumer brands across the mattress industry. In 2023, Casper's Canadian operations became fully Canadian owned and operated when Sleep Country Canada acquired the business, and Casper Canada mattresses are now designed and manufactured domestically for the Canadian market.

Trial & Warranty
Casper Canada offers a 10-year limited warranty. This applies to mattresses with a sag greater than 0.75" not caused by improper use, foam that physically splits or cracks, zipper defects, and damage from a faulty Casper Mattress Protector if purchased at the same time as the mattress, which is the lowest threshold we've seen at Best Sleep Society. Although the warranty is limited, it's not prorated. The brand also offers a 100-night sleep trial, which is lower than the standard 365-night trial we've seen from other competitors. Additionally, Casper Canada covers all shipping costs of returns.
Purchasing & Returns
If you want to purchase the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow in Canada, you can visit a Casper Canada store or order online at casper.ca. Casper offers free shipping across Canada with some exceptions. Returns are hassle-free: contact the customer service team, and they'll arrange to pick up the mattress from your home.
