Micro Quilted Cover
A stretchy, breathable polyester-spandex cover that wicks moisture away from your body. It zips off and goes straight into the washing machine, so keeping your mattress fresh is easy.
Douglas Original
CoolSense® Cover
A machine-washable cover made with Tencel® and cooling-infused fibres meant to draw heat away. It is practical, but in our testing it didn't stop the Douglas from sleeping warmer than the Endy.

2" of open-cell foam infused with cooling gel. Air moves freely through the open cells, so this layer contours to your body without trapping heat the way traditional memory foam does.
Douglas Original
2" ecoLight® Cooling Gel Foam
The main comfort layer pairs gel foam with Polar® temperature-balancing technology. It provides most of the mattress's pressure relief, but it is less effective at moving heat away from hot sleepers.

Which Mattress Should You Choose?
The Endy Mattress is the clear winner. It outscored the Douglas Original in all seven of our tests, with perfect scores for pressure relief and response and a 9/10 for cooling thanks to its gel-infused open-cell foam. It also comes in three firmness levels, so side, back and stomach sleepers can all find the right feel.
The Douglas Original costs less in every size and is a decent all-foam mattress, but it slept warmer in our testing, has much less bounce, and comes in one feel only.
